• How I handicap with minimal use of traditional past performances
    Ranch.

In your post you glossed over one of the most important thing a handicapper can do... And that is find vulnerable favorites. This is something I have never been able to decipher. Ho do you spot one? What info leads you to that conclusion? If you don't mind.
  • Completely Different Styles!
I believe a players style hinges on their personality. Some are grinders and others are splash players going for the big score. And then there are those in between. I don't believe people can play for any length of time opposite of their personality.
  • Old Racing System
Is there a name for this method? I believe I have seen something similar in the past.
  • Who are the Spreadsheet Wizards?
I worked with Raybo a bit. He was a gentleman and I really liked him. Was so sorry when he passed away!
  • Benter speech
I believe it would. I will look at my available funds to see if I can level the playing field a bit....LOL
  • WHO ARE YOU?
Hello. The infamous Handiman here. Dubious of character with limited intelligence. Probably why I fit right into the horse handicapping game....LOL

I have been coding for about 30 years, but still consider myself a Hobby coder. I have programmed in Pascal and Liberty Basic. Have worked a bit with spreadsheets, but do not consider myself proficient at them.

I am always interested in learning new things and willing to help anyone I can. I look forward to whaat transpires here.
  • Benter speech
I have heard so much about Whales over the last few years. Do they have access to different data than we normal guys have available to us? Or is it their computer programs are far superior to anything we might be able to get our hands on at present? For instance, if we were looking at a race where John Henry was going to run, what would Benter's people see that we couldn't? I chse J. H. cause I loved that horse...LOL
  • Fellow Won the Derby Trifecta with ALL button - Does that count?
It doesn't matter how you did it. A gazillion people bet that race and very few had the winner obviously. If you walked up to the window and cashed a ticket on that race then Kudos to you. Doesn't matter if you got a tip from a drunk horse walker or you got a tip from Mr. Ed cashing a ticket is what counts in this game. And for those of you too young to get the reference, Mr. Ed was a talking horse on tv in the 60's I believe.
  • CODERS: How to write your own handicapping scripting language?
I can attest to the fact that writing your own programs, and for others also,is quite gratifying. I have been doing it foe about 30 years. There is just something special about using and looking aat your own creation.

I am interested in learning new stuff, so count me in as interested Dave.
