Odds movement calculation help

    Hi All
    I have brain freeze :lol: and internet search freeze thus my apologies in advance. Would any of forum members be kind enough to show me the calculation for odds movement either steaming or drifting

    3/1 into 6/4 as a percentage move is? HELP
    OR
    8/1 out to 20/1 as a percentage move is? HELP

    I just can not think and would be extremely grateful for help. Many thanks.

    I think what you're looking for are the booking percentages.

    Pct = 100 / (odds + 1)

    Thus...
    3/1 = 100 / (3 + 1 ) = 25%
    2/1 = 100 / (2 + 1 ) = 33%
    3/2 = 100 / (1.5 +1)= 40%

    So, a horse who was bet down from 3/1 to 3/2 would see an increase in percent of pool of 15% (i.e. 40 - 25 = 15).
