    Tried to load today's races.
    Downloaded
    Imported
    Open Day
    Live Races today's races showed and I can watch/watch all
    Closed Races window
    ===>HQ Window does not appear with races. Menu bar "File Lists Programmer Action Help"
    starts dark gray and goes to light gray
    Tried Open Race from menu. It does not open the race window.

    What did I miss?

    Is this your 2nd computer? The one that you copied over to?
    If so, guess is that some file or folder permissions were not copied.

    Should I just reinstall from original version 000?

    Will upgrade 002 overwrite permissions or should I start with 000?

    Will reinstalling 000 overwrite my data files or do I need to
    redownload?

    I know we haven't made any objects yet, but if you reinstall,
    will you overwrite created objects or do we need to copy and
    rename object files to keep them from being overwritten?

    I thought I wrote about that.
    It overwrites nothing other than the .exe.
    But don't you already have 1.0002?

    Upgraded to 002 and still didn't work.

    Went to laptop and copied 001 full folder and overwrote
    all files on desktop.

    Tried to open HQ. HQ opened ok.

    Upgraded to002 and opened HQ. HQ opened ok.

    I'm fixed.

    Sorry, but that is not the problem.

    Also, 1.0001 will stop running tomorrow.

    It is a mandatory upgrade.
    There is nothing wrong with 1.0002.
    The issue was your original copy.

    I guarantee it.

    HQx file not writing again.

    I'm on version 1.0006.
    Tried reinstalling update 1.0006 and still didn't write.

    Went back to original install - 1.0000 and extracted.
    Ran update 1.0006.

    Worked.

    Any ideas on what would cause the HQx file to not write
    (file is there, just empty)??

    Went back to original install - 1.0000 and extracted.
    Ran update 1.0006.     — ponyplayer

    I can tell you this:
    You HAVE blown up everything as v1.0000 will prevent you from EVER upgrading again.

    EVER.
    There are things under the hood that have now been destroyed and cannot be recovered without a complete deletion and starting at 1.0002.

    An upgrade to 1.0006 cannot fix this.

    You can, but there is an upgrade coming in a couple of weeks that will cause you to have to wipe out everything and start over (from v 1.0002 or later) since some key file structures are changing.

    Before THAT upgrade you will either have to start over or never upgrade again.
